GLADEWATER, Texas — The city of Gladewater has temporarily suspended all burning and burn permits as of Wednesday.
This comes after an announcement from Gladewater Fire Chief Mike Simmons who claims, "numerous failures to follow burn guidelines and illegal burn activity even after permits have been issued."
At this time, the city is alerting its residents that no burning is allowed within the city limits.
This action will be resolved once a finalized burn permit policy will be instilled allowing for certain software to be finalized.
The city of Gladewater is expecting to inform its residents once more updates become available.
