Longtime Coffee City Fire Chief passes away

Funeral services are expected to be released in the near future.

COFFEE CITY, Texas — Longtime Coffee City Fire Chief Chris Moore passed away Saturday.

Moore, 59, served as a Coffee City Fire Chief for 16 years before his passing.

Prior to his work in Coffee City, Moore worked in the Southlake Fire Department in Southlake as well as the Westside Volunteer Fire Department in Chandler until February 2008.

Moore was a former president of the Henderson County Fire Chief Association. He held office with the North Texas Fireman’s and Fire Marshal Association, East Texas Medical Center EMS, along with other agencies.

Additionally, Moore served in the army for 15 years before being medically discharged.

"Chief Moore mentored and inspired many firefighters in his career and will greatly be missed.  Rest easy Chief we have the watch from here," Coffee City Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

Funeral services are expected to be released in the near future.
