East Texas Giving Day is Tuesday, April 30, and more than 300 nonprofits from across the region are seeking monetary donations to fund projects and programs, or get specialized equipment.

The East Texas Communities Foundation serves donors and nonprofits in 32 East Texas counties: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Franklin, Freestone, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Lamar, Leon, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Upshur, Van Zandt and Wood.

East Texas Communities Foundation President Kyle Penney spoke with CBS19 about the importance of East Texas Giving Day on Tuesday and how it greatly helps many nonprofits.
