DOCUMENTS: East Texas woman was intoxicated, tried to get cocaine before abandoning baby girl in stroller by road

While waiting, she said to Vincent, "I'll just leave her," referring to the baby. She told Vincent to give the child to her dad, the affidavit read.

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — Arrest documents show an East Texas woman was waiting to get cocaine from the someone before she decided to leave her child in a stroller near a roadway in Henderson County.

Aliza Perez, 23, was charged with endangering/abandoning a child and booked in the Henderson County Jail Oct. 28 after her 8-month-old daughter was found in a stroller by the road in a driveway on State Highway 19 S. near Athens.

The child's photo was posted on social media to identify her, and later Perez turned herself into authorities.

According to an arrest affidavit, during an initial police interview on Oct. 28, Perez said she was at her friend Abby's house and had gotten drunk, but she claimed she didn't know Abby's last name because she just met her. She also claimed that she called the Athens Police Department for a ride after her friend kicked her out.

She was transported to a house on State Highway 19 that belonged to someone who she had conversations with about cocaine, the affidavit said. Perez identified this man as Vincent.

Perez told the investigator she didn't want him getting in trouble for giving her cocaine. She told officials she was intoxicated when she was dropped off, the document read.

Perez told the sheriff's office she was at this Vincent's house until around 3 a.m. Oct. 28 and when she was walking with her child, she kept falling over because she was "too intoxicated." She said she pushed the stroller with the baby inside into the yard and walked into a local hospital, the document explained.

Digital data revealed that Perez was never at Abby's house and her phone also showed conversations between Perez and Vincent. A sheriff's deputy said the conversations showed Vincent had something that can be snorted and belongs to Perez, according to the affidavit.

In the texts, Perez allegedly said, "you know if you don't pull up tonight don't hit me up ever again and I will be there to get my (expletive) if you don't snort at all" around 10:45 p.m. Oct. 27. Then, around 2 a.m. Oct. 28, she texted "otw" meaning on the way. Vincent said he wasn't home, and Perez later said she would wait at the residence with her baby, the affidavit detailed.

While waiting, she said to Vincent, "I'll just leave her," referring to the baby. She told Vincent to give the child to her dad and also said "you can call the cops I don't even care at this point," the affidavit said.

The investigation is ongoing.
