LUFKIN, Texas — The Lufkin Fire Department extinguished a house fire that began in a garage Monday evening.
According to the LFD, fire crews responded to a house fire in the 1400 block of Betty Street.
On the scene, crews arrived at a house with heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage of a house. They entered through the garage to battle the fire. LFD said by 7:35 p.m., crews had the fire under control.
No injuries were reported, officials said. The American Red Cross will assist the residents.
The Lufkin Fire Marshal's Office continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
