Jury trial in Decker Place Apartment shooting begins in Marshall

Redd pleaded not guilty to the offenses. His court-appointed attorney, Todd Smith, argued that the case involves “tunnel vision.”

MARSHALL, Texas — The jury trial of a Marshall man who allegedly shot into a Decker Place apartment, severely injuring a mother and her young son, kicked off this week in the 71st Judicial District Court.

The defendant, 45-year-old Dameion Deon Redd Sr., is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as well as injury to a child with intent to cause serious bodily injury.

Redd pleaded not guilty to the offenses. His court-appointed attorney, Todd Smith, argued that the case involves “tunnel vision.”
