Shreveport man arrested for endangering children while driving intoxicated in Marshall

Tackett currently remains in the Harrison County Jail and is charged with driving while intoxicated and child endangerment.

MARSHALL, Texas — One man has been arrested and charged following a wreck on Thanksgiving Day in Marshall.

Marshall police have identified the suspect as Louis Elliott Tackett, 31, of Shreveport, LA.

Tackett currently remains in the Harrison County Jail with $77,000 bonds and is charged with driving while intoxicated and child endangerment, according to a press release.

On Nov. 23 around 3:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a wreck on the westbound exit ramp of Interstate 20 at East End Boulevard South.

One witness saw Tackett driving at unsafe speeds on I-20 before exiting onto South East End Blvd, running a red light and proceeding to hit an 18-wheeler at the intersection.

In an effort to evade the scene, Tackett reversed his vehicle back down the ramp before jumping a curb, causing his car to stop.

Police on scene discovered that Tackett was under the influence with three children in the back of his vehicle.

No injuries were reported on scene and the children have been placed in the care of relatives.

This investigation is still ongoing and more information will be released.
