Texas African American Museum unveils life-size solar eclipse glasses ahead of total eclipse

TYLER, Texas — The Texas African American Museum is excited to unveil a life-size version of a pair of solar-eclipse glasses ahead of the total solar eclipse on April 8. 

Texas African American Museum Executive Director Gloria Washington says the construction was collaborated between the Empowerment Community Development Corporation and the museum. 

Crews are expecting to display the solar eclipse glasses on the side of the museum by the end of the day on Thursday.

If you are interested in viewing the large pair of solar eclipse glasses visit the Texas African American Museum at 309 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Tyler.

The museum hours are Thursday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
