Tyler firefighters extinguish tanker truck fire at Murphy USA on Highway 64

The fire started as a tanker truck was providing fuel to the station. A car drove near the truck, causing static or heat that ignited the inferno.

TYLER, Texas — Tyler fire and police units responded to a fire Monday night at the Murphy's USA gas station at the Highway 64 Walmart.

The fire was reported at about 7:30 p.m. 

According to Deputy Fire Marshall Randy Lee, the fire started as a tanker truck was providing fuel to the station. A car drove near the truck, causing static or heat that ignited the inferno. There were also flames on the ground after fuel spilled.

No one was injured in the fire.

Firefighters used a AAA foam to extinguish the flames.
