VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas — UPDATE: The Van Zandt County Sheriffs Office has located Jacob Howell. He was taken into custody Wednesday.

The Van Zandt County Sheriffs Office is asking the public for help in locating a wanted fugitive.
According to officials, earlier today Jacob Howell of Fruitvale was involved in a disturbance with a weapon.
Officials say Howell left the residence and later returned to the Fruitvale area on Van Zandt County Road 1124 and 1126 in a stolen vehicle, and was confronted by law enforcement.
Howell evaded arrest in the vehicle and led law enforcement on a short pursuit before dumping the stolen vehicle in a wooded area and running away.
Howell is to be considered armed and dangerous.
Authorities say if you see Howell, do not confront him, contact your local law enforcement immediately.
