Boil water notice in west Tyler rescinded

The city of Tyler had issued a boil water notice Monday for the west side of town after an 18-inch water main break on S. Southwest Loop 323.

TYLER, Texas — The boil water notice that has impacted west Tyler since Monday has been rescinded.

Lab test results have shown the water does not need to be boiled any longer as of Wednesday.

The city of Tyler had issued a boil water notice Monday for the west side of town after an 18-inch water main break on S. Southwest Loop 323.

"Water samples were submitted to NET Health labs yesterday at 5 p.m., and we're very grateful that they stayed open to start testing," said Utilities Director Kate Dietz. "Now, the next steps include repairing the roadway in front of Sam's Club from the water main break, so we're working with TxDOT to figure out the best way to move forward."
