LONGVIEW, Texas — Seven people have been transported to the hospital after a major crash at the intersection of West Birdsong and West Loop 281 in Longview.
According to officials, around 4:30 p.m. the Longview Fire Department and the Longview Police Department responded to reports of multiple people trapped inside a vehicle following an accident.
When first responders arrived on scene they identified eight people had been involved, seven of them were transported to the hospital.
Four of the seven sustained life-threatening injuries.
One person had to be extricated from the vehicle with the use of heavy rescue tools before being transported.
The conditions of the people are unknown at this time.
All traffic in both directions is currently shut down. Avoid the area if possible.
The Longview Police Department is still on scene investigating the accident.
