2 arrested in Lufkin after police recover stolen vehicle

Two East Texans were arrested after a stolen vehicle was discovered and recovered by officers during a traffic stop.

LUFKIN — Chelsea Paddie a 19-year-old Hemphill woman and Raiford "Brad" Durham, a 35-year-old Lufkin man were arrested after Lufkin police officers recovered a stolen vehicle Wednesday night.

According to a post on the Lufkin Police Department's Facebook page, officers saw the stolen Cadillac SRX at a gas station, with Durham, Paddie and another woman inside it.

When officers made a traffic stop on the vehicle, Durham, the front-seat passenger, tried to run away from the scene.

He was ordered to the ground and arrested on charges of debit card abuse and evading arrest.

Paddie, who was driving the vehicle, arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and the other woman was checked for warrants and released.

Officers recovered video of Durham using the victim's debit card as well.
