LONGVIEW, Texas — Three people are without a home and three cats died after a kitchen fire at a Longview apartment complex last weekend.
On Sunday, May 19, the Longview Fire Department responded to 1400 HG Mosely Parkway Apt. #2016 around 10:30 p.m. The fire started in a second floor apartment unit's kitchen and ultimately caused about $100,000 in damage to the entire apartment building.
According to the fire department, the blaze was contained to the upstairs unit, but there was significant water damage to the unit below. Three residents, who were displaced, are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
No one was injured, but three cats died because of the fire, LFD said.
