WACO, Texas — Over the past two days, marching bands from across Texas converged on Waco to take part in 2023 UIL State Military Class state contest.
The following East Texas bands brought home the hardware for their stellar performances:
1A/2A competition:

3rd place - Shelbyville High School
4th place - Harleton High School
5th place - Timpson High School
3A competition:
1st place - New Diana High School
2nd place - White Oak High School
3rd place - Sabine High School
4th place - West Rusk High School
5th place - Troup High School
4A competition:
1st place - Lindale High School
2nd place - Spring Hill High School
3rd place - Bullard High School
4th place - Gilmer High School
5th place - Chapel Hill High School
5A/6A competition:
1st place - Lufkin High School
3rd place - Longview High School
