East Texas business leader joins U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran during joint Congress meeting

Komatsu Mining Corp, a Japanese-based company, has had roots in East Texas since 1946.

An East Texas business leader joined U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran Thursday during a joint meeting of Congress. 

Gerald Rincher, director of loader products for Komatsu in Longview, attended the congressional meeting as Moran's guest while Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida spoke about the diplomatic relationship between the United States and Japan.

According to CBS News, President Joe Biden and Kishida announced the U.S., Japan and Australia will make a joint air defense network during concerns over China's global and regional influence.

Komatsu Mining Corp is a Japanese-based company that develops technologies, equipment and services for the construction, mining, forklift, industrial and forestry markets. The company has had roots in East Texas since 1946. In March, Komatsu revealed a new 56,000-square-foot, three-story facility in Longview.
