Jacksonville ISD employee placed on leave after allegations of injuring child

Officials received a report from a parent saying her child was injured while they were under the care of a school staff member.

JACKSONVILLE, Texas — A Jacksonville ISD employee has been placed on administrative leave after officials received reports of a child getting injured. 

According to a statement from the district, officials received a report from a parent saying her child was injured while they were under the care of a school staff member. JISD then began an investigation for the safety and well-being of all those involved. 

The employee accused of injuring the child has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation in accordance with the school's commitment to transparency and accountability.

"JISD recognizes the seriousness of these allegations and is fully cooperating with all relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation. As always, the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority," Jacksonville ISD said in its statement.
