KILGORE, Texas — After five years of waiting, ongoing confusion over crosswalk rules and many questions from the community, Kilgore College finally cut the ribbon on a brand new campus pedestrian bridge spanning U.S. 259/Henderson Boulevard Tuesday morning.
KC Rangerettes, KC police officers, board members, representatives from engineering firm Halff Associates, elected officials from surrounding cities and local students all turned up in chilly, windy weather to celebrate the long-awaited opening.
“Today is definitely a monumental day for Kilgore College,” KC President Brenda Kays told the crowd.
