The city of Longview needs donations for Homeless Resource Day on January 25.
Homeless Resource Day is dedicated to assisting anyone who might be experiencing homelessness. This city of Longview will provide a bag filled with nonperishable items to people in need.
The city will assemble hygiene kits in reusable grocery bags. Their goal is to create 500 bags, but they need several donations.
Below is a list of suggested items needed to create a homeless outreach bag:
Individual Sized and/or Individually Wrapped Items
- Bottled Water
- Snack Crackers
- Dried Fruit (Raisins)
- Granola Bars / Breakfast Bars
- Nuts
- Pull Top Canned Food
- Juice
- Fruit cups
- Beef Jerky
- Cereal
- Trail Mix
Miscellaneous and Hygiene Items
- New Socks
- Bath Towels
- Toothpaste
- Shampoo
- Bar Soap
- Toothbrushes
- Hairbrushes / Combs
- Small Laundry Detergent
- Razors
- Insect Repellent
- Sunscreen
- Orajel
- Wet Wipes
- Hand sanitizer
- Deodorant
- Band-Aids
- Lip protection (Chap Stick)
- Tissues
- Plastic forks and spoons for food items
- Longview Transit Route Maps
- Mini Flashlights

If you would like to donate items, you can bring them to the Longview Public Library located at 222 W. Cotton St., from Monday, Dec. 18, 2023 to Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.
