The investigation is ongoing.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — A teenager is dead and another sustained life-threatening injuries following a Monday evening crash in Nacogdoches.

According to the Nacogdoches Police Department, around 7:10 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 4500 block of E. Main St.

Police say a Dodge 1500 was traveling east on Main St. when it slowed down and tried to turn left onto Quail Ridge Rd. The Dodge was struck from behind by a Ford F-250 pulling a trailer loaded with another vehicle.  Police say the impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway.

"An adult male driver of the Ford was uninjured in the accident," police said. "An adult female driver and a juvenile in the left rear passenger seat of the Dodge were treated and released at the hospital. A 13-year-old juvenile in the front passenger seat of the Dodge was transported to a local hospital but sadly was pronounced deceased. A juvenile in the right rear seat of the Dodge was flown to a Tyler hospital with life threatening injuries."

The investigation is ongoing and CBS19 will update this article as more information becomes available.
