Voters strike down Longview ISD bond that would've addressed security, athletic facility upgrades

The two propositions of the bond would've totaled around $359.7 million.

LONGVIEW, Texas — Voters within Longview ISD struck down a bond that would've addressed security and athletic facility upgrades, among other updates.

Proposition A, which came out to $291,894,025, would've funded the following:

  • Additional safety and security at each campus
  • New early childhood center
  • Longview High School renovation
  • New career and technical education (CTE) Building
  • Early graduation high school renovation
  • Other campus improvements and solar projects
  • New bus barn
  • Life cycle replacements
  • Lobo Coliseum improvements

Proposition B, which totaled $67,821,235, would've funded:

  • New multi-purpose student facility
  • Soccer/baseball/tennis renovations
