LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - A dedication ceremony to name the Gerard Cace Kitchen was held today at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, 100 Grand Blvd.

As co-owner of Johnny Cace's Seafood & Steakhouse, Mr. Cace was a leader in the restaurant industry and the Longview community. Among his many volunteer endeavors, Mr. Cace helped establish the Junior Achievement program in Longview and helped operate the Historic Longview Farmer's Market. Mr. Cace was a past president of the statewide Texas Restaurant Association, and he was known for his strong work ethic, character, and integrity.

The event took place as part of the Longview Greggton Rotary Club Meeting, of which Gerard Cace was a member.

The naming of the kitchen was approved by the Parks Advisory Board on Aug. 27, and was approved by the Longview City Council on Oct. 11.
