'Mastering the Course' with All Saints' two-time state champion golfer

Senior star Sidney Robertson has already committed to Dallas Baptist for golf but is continuing her quest to win a third state title.

TYLER, Texas — Winning a state championship is a highly impressive accomplishment. Winning two of them is something that many athletes can only dream of.

But for Sidney Robertson, that dream is a reality and she's not done yet.

"It's always been a goal of mine, especially going into high school. I just really wanted to win a state championship," Robertson said. "I just really set my mind on it. I'm out on the course every single day from the time I get out of school until dark. In the summer, I spend my mornings and afternoons out here."

The All Saints Episcopal School star golfer has been making noise her entire golf career, bringing back hardware to her school and gathering the attention from some of the top collegiate golf programs across the country.

In a recruitment process with a lot of calls and texts, she ended up staying close to home with one of the top programs in the entire country.

Robertson will be attending Dallas Baptist University next year. The school has a high-level program that has won two championships in the last three years. With both her and the college's winning pedigrees, it seemed to be a perfect match.

"Recruitment started the summer before junior year on June 15. That day, their coach was the very first person to reach out to me. Since then, he has never failed to reach out to me at least once a week," Robertson said.

"That was my first college visit I went on, and as soon as I got on that campus, I knew that was where I was supposed to be and that felt like home. From day one, it was always a dream of mine to go play college golf."

The countless hours at the Cascades Country Club in Tyler have paid major dividends for the All Saints senior, with two state championships already on her resume.

However, she said it would be even sweeter to finish off her high school career this spring with number three.

"It would mean a lot because it's something that I've been working for all year. Also, me and my teammates are really close and I'm also really hoping that our team makes it to state," Robertson said. "That's another goal that I've had, to get that team win. It would really be great if I could get that too."
