Running back Derrick Henry is reportedly signing with the Ravens after Cowboys rumors

Adam Schefter reported that Henry agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Ravens.

DALLAS — Sorry, Cowboys fans.

Free agent running back Derrick Henry, who was rumored to be linked to the Cowboys, is reportedly signing with the Baltimore Ravens.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter posted the news Tuesday on X, shortly before noon. Schefter reported that Henry agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with the Ravens, including $9 million fully guaranteed in the first year.

The Cowboys are in need of a running back after letting Tony Pollard sign with the Tennessee Titans in free agency, which began Monday.

And many prognosticators linked the Cowboys to Henry, who recently bought a home in the Dallas area.

His realtor Leston Eustache's social media post about the home purchase had the Cowboys free agency rumor mill churning with the fan base's undivided attention since it was posted Thursday.

But while there might have been smoke, there was no fire.

As of now, the Cowboys have three running backs signed: Deuce Vaughn, Hunter Luepke, and Malik Davis. Rico Dowdle also saw decent playing time in 2023 and is a free agent who could potentially return to Dallas. But for now, the Cowboys are still on the hunt for a running back.

In fact, through the first 24 hours of the league's legal tampering period, the Cowboys were the lone team to not make a move. They got on the board Tuesday morning with the re-signing of long snapper Trent Sieg, according to multiple reports.

Here is a list of the Cowboys unrestricted free agents who remain on the market:

  • Tyron Smith, OL
  • Chuma Edoga, OL
  • Rico Dowdle, RB
  • Sean McKeon, TE
  • Stephon Gilmore, CB
  • Jourdan Lewis, CB
  • Noah Igbinoghene, CB
  • Jayron Kearse, S
  • C.J. Goodwin, DB
  • Johnathan Hankins, DL
  • Neville Gallimore, DL
