PANOLA COUNTY, Texas — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash last Friday morning in Panola County.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Adam Albritton, James M. Browning, 21, of Marshall was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash on U.S. Highway 59, just 1 mile north of Carthage.
The preliminary investigation indicates a 2021 Kenworth Truck Tractor towing double trailers was traveling northbound on U.S. 59. Browning was driving a 2009 Nissan Murano southbound in the northbound lanes on U.S. 59 when he hit the truck tractor, police said.
The driver of the truck tractor was not injured, police said.
