CBS19 WEATHER: Widespread rain won't return until Sunday

Check out the latest forecast from the CBS19 Weather Experts.

TYLER, Texas — Howdy East Texas!

Welcome to weekends in May. That means there will be a chance of rain but that doesn't mean it will rain. A perfect example of this is Saturday. The sky will look like it wants to rain at times and it will but not everywhere and not all the time. So, get out there and enjoy the many hours of dry, warm and humid weather. Just keep an eye to the sky.

Here's your weekend forecast:

SATURDAY:

Saturday gets off to a cloudy and muggy start with a steady south wind around around 10 mph. There could be a few areas of light rain or mist but nothing heavy is expected. The clouds will break up a bit in the afternoon and allow temperatures to warm into the mid-80s. Warmer temperatures will lead to widely scattered showers or a thunderstorm. These will be brief and not every one will see rain. Late Saturday night, the closer we get to midnight, the better rain chance.

SUNDAY:

A thunderstorm complex will move into East Texas early Sunday morning. This will bring widespread rain to East Texas. The heaviest of this rain will once again fall over Deep East Texas. Flood Watches are in effect for Henderson, Anderson, Houston and Trinity counties through Sunday afternoon. High temperatures, thanks to the clouds and rain cooler air, will only reach the upper 70s.
