TYLER, Texas — The annual STAAR testing begins next week for East Texas schools.

Boulter Middle School students got a special treat before the weekend, as the Prairie View A&M's marching band stopped by for a pep rally.

"Today was giving our students their return on investment. Students and teachers have been working hard, collectively for STAAR review and to be prepared and ready to go next week," Boulter Middle School Principal Justin Simmons said. "I have some connection to students that previously graduated from Tyler ISD right here at Prairie View A&M."

"Oh, I think it was magnificent. I've never heard a band like that ever. Because it was something that we've never seen, because they're just a whole other level," Boulter Middle School band member Davin Gordy said.
