TYLER, Texas — At 11:00 p.m. Friday, DPS Troopers responded to a fatal auto vs. pedestrian crash on SH 155, approximately twelve miles north of the city of Tyler in Smith County.
The investigators' preliminary report indicates that the driver of a 2013 Ford Escape was traveling northbound in the left lane of SH-155. A pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway from east to west. The vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was identified as Melissa Renee Chreiman, 33, of Frankston.
Chreiman was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Andy Dunklin and was taken to Lighthouse Funeral Home in Tyler.
The crash remains under investigation.
