RUSK COUNTY, Texas — A 30-year-old woman is dead after she was struck by a vehicle Thursday night while in the middle of the road in Rusk County.
Alicen Blanchard Akin, of Overton, was in the middle of State Highway around 7:45 p.m. a mile north of New London when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Samuel Delano Roy, 64, of Arp, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Akin was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the wreck is going, DPS said.
