No injuries reported after porch fire at Longview home

The American Red Cross is assisting the four people impacted by the fire, which crews said was intentionally set, according to the Longview Fire Department.

LONGVIEW, Texas — No injuries were reported after a porch fire at Longview home early Thursday morning. 

Firefighters responded to a fire just before 4 a.m. in the 1300 block of N. Ninth Street to find the blaze on the porch located on the home's southside. Crews learned the people in the home had already gotten out of the home. One pet received oxygen treatment, but they are in good health, the Longview Fire Department said. 

The American Red Cross is assisting the four people impacted by the fire, which crews said was intentionally set, according to Longview Fire. The blaze is under investigation.

On Thursday night, the fire department responded to the 800 block of Buchanan Ave. for a house fire around 11 p.m. The fire had extended from the back to the attic and roof. The fire caused about $35,000 in damage. No one was injured and the house was vacant at this time, LFD said. 

The cause of the fire is also under investigation.
