RUSK COUNTY, Texas — A Houston man was arrested after the driver of a vehicle was found dead with a gunshot wound Sunday morning in Rusk County.

According to the Rusk County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Highway 79 at County Road 347 about a possible crash around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers found the drive, identified as Christina Glenn, 27, of Houston, dead in the driver's seat.

An investigation led to the arrest of the passenger, identified as Justin Roy Edwards, 33, also of Houston, for murder.

According to officials, "the investigation determined that the believed cause of death to the victim was a penetrating gunshot wound to the cranial area of [Glenn]."

Edwards was booked into the Rusk County Jail on a $1 million bond.

"The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office is asking the community to keep the Glenn family in their thoughts and prayers," Sheriff Valdez said.
