TxDOT projects expected to cause lane closures, delays across East Texas

TxDOT begins construction and maintenance work projects on Feb. 27 across East Texas counties.

TYLER, Texas — Lane closures and traffic delays expected across East Texas counties as TxDOT begins construction and maintenance work on the week of Feb. 27. 

Here's a list of major projects across the counties: 

Anderson County: 

  • Palestine: Maintenance repair on the edges on FM 645, then will move to FM 3328 for base repairs. Expect lane closures and controlled traffic by flaggers. 

Cherokee County: 

  • Jacksonville: Bridge maintenance continues at different locations throughout the county. Expect lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers.
  • Rusk: Crews will be working on base repairs at various roadways across the county. Expect lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers. 

Gregg County:

  • Longview: Maintenance to begin on FM 2906, both northbound and southbound, from SH 149 to the state maintenance ends marker. 

Henderson County: 

  • Athens: Maintenance to begin mill and inlay operations on SL 7 between SH 19 N and SH 31 E. Expect lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers.

Rusk County:

  • Henderson: Maintenance will begin placing work zone signs pavement reconstruction, structures pavement markings, and signs. Expect lane closures and delays.

Smith County: 

  • Tyler: Maintenance will work on base failure repairs on FM 15 about two miles south of SH 64. Crews will then move near Sadler St. on FM 15.  Expect lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers. 
  • Second crew will be working on ditch work, removing high shoulders and filing low shoulders on Loop 323, east of North Broadway Avenue. Expect lane closures, will change daily. A sweeper unit will be working a different locations throughout the county. 

Van Zandt County: 

  • Canton: Crews will continue to work on bridge maintenance on I-20 between FM 17 and the Smith County line. 
  • A second crew will be working on digging base repairs on FM 90.

Wood County:

  • Crews will continue to work on FM 49, from FM 14 and heading east to the Upshur County line. Expect lane closures and controlled traffic with flaggers and a pilot vehicle. 
  • Another crew will be in SH 11 east of FM 515 in Winnsboro blade overlying the highway.  Expect lane closures and controlled traffic with flaggers and a pilot vehicle.
