CBS19 WEATHER: Gusty thunderstorms & heavy rain late tonight

Check out the latest forecast from the CBS19 Weather Experts.

TYLER, Texas — Good evening East Texas,

Thursday is an Eye on Weather Day across East Texas. The combination of gusty thunderstorms and heavy rain during the morning commute Thursday prompts a weather scenario worth watching. Gusty, straight-line winds along the leading edge of an early morning thunderstorm complex could cause some isolated or scattered wind damage. But the flash flood threat will be greater with potentially up to three inches of rain possible is some parts of East Texas.

Here's your forecast:

TONIGHT:

Partly cloudy this evening with a few showers developing over parts of Deep East Texas. After midnight, scattered thunderstorms will develop and begin to sweep across East Texas. The line of thunderstorms could have gusty winds, small hail, lots of lightning and thunder and heavy rain. Overnight temperatures stay on the warmer side of average only dropping to around 70-degrees.

TOMORROW:

Thursday is a CBS19 Eye on Weather day.  A line of thunderstorms will reach our western most counties around 6 A.M.  These storms will continue to race through the piney woods during the morning hours.  Be prepared for gusty winds, small hail and heavy rain, with some areas picking up almost 5 inches of rain.  This brings a level 3 out of 4 risk of flooding.  Make sure to drive with care and avoid flooded roadways.
