Tornado touches down in Tyler

At around 7 p.m., CBS19 Meteorologist Brett Anthony confirmed a tornado formed in Tyler through the station's tower camera.

TYLER, Texas — Multiple people captured a tornado forming and dissipated as it passed through Tyler Thursday evening. 

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning at 6:40 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. for Smith County.

At around 7 p.m., CBS19 Meteorologist Brett Anthony confirmed a tornado formed in Tyler through the station's tower camera.

A wall cloud formed on Old Jacksonville Highway then a weak tornado developed and moved Southwest to Northeast Tyler before dissolving. 

Minor damage was reported in multiple areas of Tyler such as Tyler Junior College campus, Bentham and Fifth street.

The National Weather Service will send a team to assess the storm to determine if a tornado formed in Tyler.
