Dog killed, no injuries reported after house fire in Lufkin

The Lufkin Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

LUFKIN, Texas — A dog is dead after a house fire Friday morning in Lufkin

Firefighters responded to the blaze at a home in the 100 block of Gayle Street around 9 a.m. Through search efforts, fire crews determined that no one was inside the home at the time. 

According to the city of Lufkin, a dog died in the fire. The blaze was extinguished by 10:37 a.m.  

The Lufkin Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
