HENDERSON, Texas — Congratulations are in order for Addison Graham!

The Henderson teenager, who won her two-year battle with leukemia last year, graduated from high school a year early. She walked across the stage in her cap and gown Thursday night alongside her Henderson High School classmates at Lion Stadium.

After graduating high school, Addison will be attending Baylor University to study nursing. She earned the Erik Kimmey and Olivia Nolley Scholarship presented by the Gold Network of East Texas as well as the Dr. James and Katherine Mann Memorial Scholarship. She received second place in the Rotary Club Speech Contest.

She was inspired to become a nurse because of her cancer journey as she received excellent treatment from her nurses.

Addison was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a blood cancer, at 14 years old. On June 2, 2023, Addison rang the bell to signify her win in the fight against cancer.

In 2021, a sea of supporters gathered in downtown Henderson when she first found out about the diagnosis. She recalled amazing to see how many people cared about her.
