UPDATE: No exact cause for the dumpster fire at Broadway Square Mall in Tyler

No injuries were reported.

TYLER, Texas — Crews have extinguished a fire at the the Broadway Square Mall in Tyler.

According to fire officials, a dumpster outside Dillard's caught fire, but was put out within 10 minutes. Smoke from the fire did cause some damage to the roof of Dillard's. No injuries were reported.

According to Tyler Fire Marshal Paul Findley, there is no exact cause on the fire at the mall and that the plastic dumpster was completely destroyed.

"[The] fire started beside the dumpster in an area of stacked cardboard boxes," explained Findley. "No ignition source was found, but this was an area commonly utilized for smoking.”
